Theoktisto village is located in the northwest edge of Arcadia, at an altitude of 650 meters, surrounded by lush vegetation. It belongs to Gortinia province and is adjacent northwest to Kalavryta province of Achaia prefecture.
It is situated at the foot of Trikorfo and is a characteristic of the mountainous Arkadian settlement.
From its establishment until 1927, it was called "Toporista" (a land without trees), a name taken by the Slavs who settled in the area.
The current name seems to originate from a small ravine at the bottom of the village.
The few inhabitants are mainly engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry and cottage industry (weaving with looms several different fabrics and linens).
Its privileged location, between Menalo and the mountains of Achaia, give to visitors the chance to explore a number of interesting and prosperous regions and places as the ski center of Kalavryta, the ski center of Mainalo, the traditional villages of Arcadia (Vitina, Dimitsana, Stemnitsa etc.) and Ladonas Lake, the springs of Ladonas River and the Cave of Lakes.
