Craftsmen of Lagkadia
It is said that the people of Lagkadia originate from the craftsmen - workers who built the Castle of Akova, during the period of the 13th century, under the guidance of Franks.
The mountainous and barren land and the limited land for cultivation pushed inhabitants to the profession of mason - craftsman.
They developed and nurtured their art in a systematic way, which was "left" to their offspring, a fact which created the craftsman tradition of Lagadia.
Chronologically, they flourished in the 18th century, when most residents of Lagadia systematically engaged with the art of the builder.
