The imposing and beautiful Stemnitsa is built on the edge of a canyon at an altitude of 1100 meters and is an example of a traditional village of Arcadia. It is the seat of the municipality of Trikolones.
The center of the village with its square has become an attraction with the traditional cafe and pastry shops, and also the stone houses and the narrow streets along with the warm hospitality impress every visitor.
In the taverns, you can enjoy delicious local dishes with traditional recipes.
The residents of Stemnitsa are hospitable and chaste, and they always greeting the guests with warmth, friendliness and are always willing to "walk" with them along the streets of the picturesque village.
The village is quiet with narrow streets (which complicate a little bit the pass of cars), in a unique natural landscape and is the ideal destination for visitors of Arcadia, who want to live away from the busy urban centers.
The main local product is the industry of silver -gold items that is the prop up of the economy until today. It is a tradition that has its roots in the 17th century, the result of the low agricultural and livestock development in the region.
Today, in Stemnitsa, there is a public silversmithing school of two years studying and several shops and workshops of silverwork, which are continuing the tradition.
Aso famous are the local sweets (patties, diples, etc.) and pasta, sold in central shops.
Stemnitsa now has a good infrastructure for the hosting and serving of visitors. There are hotels, traditional houses and rooms for accommodation and also restaurants, taverns and cafes.

Access
You can come from Tripoli (75 km) through the National Road Tripoli - Pyrgos, once at the point of Karkalou crossing, you follow the route to Dimitsana. After Dimitsana, in 10 km is Stemnitsa.
Also, you can get through Chrysovitsi, crossing Mainalo, through a beautiful but with several turns track.
