Palaikastro is a small village in the east of
Crete, located 20 km from the town of
Sitia and the name comes from an old castle which was in the village.
It is described as the best starting point for a tour to the eastern Crete.
Although many modern elements are evident in the region, Palaikastro has managed to retain its traditional character. As a result, residents and guests are perfectly happy with the amenities that are offered.
