On the south side of Pagasitikos bay is Pteleos.

Pigadi with the picturesque harbor, the fishing boats and the picturesque taverns, is an attraction for visitors in conjunction with the historical facts of the region, as are the graves at Lichoura and the old Venetian castle of Loutro.
Built on a creek, at the exit of Pagasitikos Bay, is Achillio. It is a Picturesque fishing village, with crystal clear waters and abundant fish. At Achillio community is the village of Agios Dimitrios and Argyroniso islet. Clean rooms, seaside taverns give to visitor a chance for a comfortable vacation.
The municipality of Pteleos is an ideal location for holidays throughout the year, but especially in the summer because there is a strong tourist industry.

In the Municipality of Pteleos there are many historic monuments and attractions, including parts of Mycenaean tombs, the Venetian castle at Pigadi with the fantastic views and the beautiful scenery, remnants of an old windmill in place of Chamako, the findings of the old settlement of Chamako, the habitat place of Lichoura, the mountains of Othrios with the recently discovered caves and the Marine Museum in Achillio, are only a few of the most interesting sights.
Besides the historical monuments there are countless churches and chapels, which because of their position or their importance, are also an interesting destination for every visitor. The picturesque church of Agios Georgios, built on a hill, worth a visit, as from there, one can admire the gulf of Pagasitikos and the entire Mount Pelion, day and night.
