Andritsena, the grand lady of stones! |

Where the world changed.
The sunset of the ancient Gods came, the days |
of Chaos, Gaia and Cronus ended. The Gods of the Titans and Atlases, protectors of beasts and wild animals, dominated the universe.
The sunset of the ancient Gods came, the days of Chaos, Gaia and Cronus ended. The Gods of the Titans and Atlases, protectors of beasts and wild animals, dominated the universe. But prophesy wanted new creatures to reign on the earth, new gods to bless their existence and a new world to rise. Here on mount Lyceum, high up on ancient Olympia and Parassia, Zeus first saw the dawn of a new era, here the father of a new order of mortals and immortals came into being.
He seized the thunder in his one hand, he flicked through the pages of the yet to be written book of the ages to come and all of a sudden, the world changed forever and the human race began to rule.
Andritsena, the indomitable grand lady of stones
In the shade of Lyceum mount, on the borders of Ancient Parassias, under the wings of Epicurean Apollo, with history dating back to the beginnings of the world, the heroic Andritsena, the womb of gods, battles, cultures and people-stands proudly and fights.
It has stood for centuries now, hewed out of stone, looking down haughtily from an eagle nest, surrounded by wild gorges and mountaintops, with shady forests and raging rivers. It is proud of its stone temples and towns named Arkadikes, Phigaleia, Alipheira. its Byzantine domes, bell towers and monasteries, Roman monuments and chieftains' stately houses smelling of gunpowder.
It takes pride in the beauty of its mountain-like trunk, its forest-rich hair, the heroic deeds of its bloodied past, its residents' achievements, its springs, its nobility
It fights with its ancient Arcadian soul against the elements of Nature, the ruses of history and the angry rage of its enemies. Like the lady in the Inn, the widow of Andriko, her namesake, Andritsena.
For centuries it has stood proudly and fights, charming, mysterious and untamed! Just as femme fatales only know, just as only indomitable women know how to endure!
