History
The current village of Tsagarada, the biggest in the area, consisting of 4 quarters, should have started been building around 1500, if we take under consideration the sign that is saved in one of its oldest churches, Metamorphosi.
The main occupation of the habitants was the farming of silkworm and the production and extraction of the silk. At the same time, they were also creating the so called windlasses, which they used to weave the silken textiles and especially the silken shirts (bourezikia).
They were also occupied with the construction of woolen textiles (skoutia) that they used for the creation of the internal clothes. From the skoutia they used to make the so called dristelles or doulapia (woolen fuzzy clothes of big resistance).
After the delivery it developed to a commercial and intellectual centre, up to now that it is considered as one of the most well known winter traditional resorts.
