Parikia is the capital and the only port on the island.
It is a picturesque village with narrow streets and blue and white accents, as befits in a very beautiful Cycladic island.
Whitewashed houses with nice gardens, paved paths that radiate cleanliness, traditional taverns and well-built accommodations decorate the village and give to it life and a unique atmosphere.
The gem of the village is Panagia Ekantotapyliani church, which is considered as the most popular church in Cyclades, and is also one of the most important monuments in Greece.
In the surroundings of the church, there are many impressive neoclassical mansions, the Archaeological Museum, the monastery of Franks and the house of Manto Mavrogenous.
From Parikia, you can take day trips or cruises to Antiparos or to surrounding Cycladic islands like Naxos, Mykonos, Delos, Santorini and Ios.
In general, Parikia is considered as the starting point for many types of excursions and activities.
It leaves no time to visitor to feel boredom and it has everything he needs. From traditional cafes with cute decorations to luxurious cafes, which maintain the picturesque element of the island.

From the village, you can easily visit all the beaches on the island. The closest is Livadia that can be reached on foot.
Other beaches are Agios Fokas, served by the bus, but you can go also by boat from the harbor, the beach of Parasporos in the other side of Parikia and many more.
