The graphic beaches and the magnificent landscapes impress the visitors of Karpathos.
Pigadia is the capital and the main port of the island. It is worth visiting the Cave of Poseidon, the Pefkodasos, Vouno and the church of Aghia Kiriaki where the view can take your breath away.
You can swim at the Pigadia bay, at the beaches of Amoopi and Makrigialos and reach with a boat from the port the beaches Achata, Kira Panagia, Apela, Aghios Nikolaos, Aghios Minas, Diafani and Vanada. |

Amoopi is a tourist settlement in an area with small bays, cliffs and sandy beaches. Near by are the beaches Lakki and Fokia.
Aperi, which cannot be viewed by the sea, is appropriate for isolation and soul searching situations while Achata bay has a beach with stones and aquamarine waters. Arkasa is located in an impressing landscape. |

You can swim at the beaches of the settlements, in Fikiki and Proni. Diafani is the second port of the island which is known for its beach that has large stones. Lefkos is a seaside village with continuous bays where in summertime lilies blossom. Around the settlement there is a pinewood.

Menetes has beautiful houses with many flowers. You can swim in Amoopi, Afiarti and Makri Gialos if you choose to stay in Menetes.
Mesochori with the authentic karpathian houses and the graphic, quiet bay of Aghia Irini is next to the sea with narrow paths and many water sources.

The mountain village Othos often surrounded by clouds, is known for the traditional festival that are organized there. The village Piles is 3 klm away from Othos. Olimpos comes into sight in a wild landscape. All the village is a living museum and the majority of women still wears the traditional costume which is a scarf on the head and a shirt with embroidery. |

It is worth visiting Spoa that gaze at the sea and from there go to the seaside settlement of Aghios Nikolaos and Apela bay.
If you visit Karpathos don't forget to buy karpathian plates, "bakiria", "stivalia" and wovens. Also, try the karpathian "sousamomelo" and the hand-made noodles. |
