Skiathos is famous for its beautiful and clear beaches all around the world.

Each and every one has its own beaty and this results in all visitors being satisfied.
In the center of the island there are the organised beaches Bourtzi, Megali Ammos, Achladies, Vasilias, Sklithri, Tzaneria and Kalamaki in which many tourists go there because of the small distance by the center and the easy access. These beaches have umbrellas and sunbeds while you can find at them many taverns, restaurants and cafeterias.

In the city of Skiathos you will find many accommodation businesses (hotels, rooms to let, apartments, studios etc.) so as to be next to the magnificent beaches.
A little more southwest you can find the beaches Vromolimnos, Kolios, Agia Paraskevi, Troulos, Koukounaries (globally famous beach), Abelakia, Megali Banana, Mikri Banana and Agia Eleni. Access is also very easy even through the island's public transportation.

In the northwestern side of the island there are the beaches Krifi Ammos, Mandraki, Elia, Agkistros, Megalos and Mikros Aselinos, Ligaries and Kechria, while further north there are the beaches Lalaria, Lechouni - Nikotsara, Megas Gialos and Ksanemos. These beaches are magical, they only have one disadvantage: the weather. Because of their geographical position, when there is strong north wind it is preferable not to swim there. Access to these beaches is possible by having your own vehicle. They are appropriate for one-day excursion when the weather is good.

Another choice is the little island Tsougkria which has very good and sandy beaches.

Small, rocky beach under the ruins of the castle in the small peninsula of Skiathos port. Access to beach "Bourtzi" is possible by foot following the road that leads to Bourtzi.

Megali Ammos is located just outside the town, only 2 klm. away, heading to the road that leads to Koukounaries. This beach has beautiful, crystal waters, good taverns and restaurants. The hospitality in modern hotels and graphic guesthouses of the area pleasures all kinds of visitors.

Long, sandy and organized beach, 4 km. from the center of Skiathos than essentially extends the beaches Megali Ammos and Vasilias.

Achladia beach is only 2 km. away from the center of Skiathos. Fully organized and sandy beach that is attracts many visitors. Arround the beach there are many hotels, rooms to let, apartments etc. of every kind and category such as many seaside taverns.
Achladies are awarded the blue flag for its services towards the visitors, the good organization and the purity of the waters.
You can reach Achladies by car, by motorcycle, by taxi or by bus. Also you can come by boat.



The beautiful, sandy beach Vasilias is about 5 km. southwest of the center of Skiathos, next to Megali Ammos. Vasilias beach is well organized, good services towards the visitors and clear waters -for these reasons Vasilias has been awarded the blue flag . In the area there are many taverns, cafeterias and bars. Also there are many hotels of all kinds and categories.
Access is very easy because of the small distance of the center of Skiathos, through the public transportation or by car.



About 7 km. south of the city, in a small and graphic bay. Well organized beach. Access is very easy by bus or by car.

Kalamaki - Kanapitsa beach is about 7 km. away from the
center of Skiathos, near the Kalamaki Cape just after the Tzaneria beach.
One of the most popular beaches, organized, with great view, taverns and accommodation businesses. There is also a diving school.

Access is possible through the public transportation, by taxi, by car or by motorcycle. You should leave your vehicle to the parking area next to the beach and then walk there.



At the west end of the Kalamaki Cape, 7 km. from the center of Skiathos and in front of a dried swamp, there is a beautiful beach with quiet, sandy and with crystal waters beach. It is a very popular beach. Next to the sea there are taverns, cafeterias and a volley court. Vromolimnos is appropriate for all water sports. Also awarded the blue flag . You can access Vromolimnos by car or by little boats from the port of Skiathos.



A beach worth visiting, not only for its clear waters but also for its services such as good taverns, cafeterias, water sports and the good organization.
The beautiful and sandy beach Kolios is 8 km. away from the center of Skiathos, in front of the holiday settlement Kolios in the south coast of the island. Kolios is near Platanias while heading to Koukounaries.
If you choose Kolios beach to stay you will find many accommodation businesses there. Access to Kolios is possible by bus, by taxi and by car.

Access to Poros beach is possible by bus, by taxi, by car, moto and by boat.


This beach is named after the the little island that is there and looks like a dome. Gold sand and very high trees that offer thick shadow characterize the beach.
Troulos is well organized and has all comforts. Here the visitors will enjoy swimming in the clear waters and the shadow of the pines that reach the sea. Troulos has been awarded the blue flag for the good services, the good organization and the purity of the waters.
In the area there are many hotels, guest houses, rooms to let, apartments and taverns.

Troulos is on the road to Koukounaries, 9 km. southwest of the city and access is possible by car, by bus, by taxi and by boat.




Maratha beach is 500 meters away from Koukounaries, 12 km. from the city of Skiathos. Sandy, well organized beach that offers all comforts to the visitors.
In the area there are many accommodation and entertainment businnesses and restaurants. You can reach Maratha by bus (route Skiathos - Koukounaries), by taxi or by car.



The most famous beach of Skiathos and one of the most
internationally known beaches of our country. It is also named Chrisi Ammos ("Golden Sand") because the sand is very fine and shines under the summer sun.
Chrisi Ammos has been declared many times among the best beaches in the Mediterranean.
Besides the blue, crystal-clear waters, the beach offers the chance for relaxation and pleasure, insomuch the famous forest of Koukounaries stops a few meters from the sea.

In Koukounaries you will find a large variety of hotels, guest houses and taverns, restaurants, bars and cafeterias.
Koukounaries beach is located at the southwest end of the island and has sunbeds, umbrellas, lifeguard and water sports facilities.

Access is very easy by car, by taxi of through the public transportation.



Ampelakia beach extends Koukounaries beach. They are separated by a few small rocks. Quiet beach and almost same as Koukounaries. Abelakia is 13 km. away from the center of Skiathos. Access is possible from the city of Skiathos by bus, by car/moto and by taxi.



The oldest name of the bay was "Krassa Bay" but in the 70s that was one of the first nudist beaches in Aegean Sea took its current name. Megali Banana is considered one of the most popular beaches of Skiathos.

There are beach bars, sunbeds, umbrellas and water sports facilities.

The pines that reach the sea, the golden sand and thewonderful greek sun complete the unique landscape. You can go to Megali Banana by bus.



Mikri Banana extends Megali Banana without lacking in natural beauty, from which is separated by a rock. Mikri Banana beach is the current nudist beach of Skiathos.



Agia Eleni bay which was named after the small church that stands there and is dedicated to the Saint, is located in the west side of the island. There the sun shines until late afternoon. The blue waters will refresh you and the pines will help you relax under their thick shadow.

The sandy beach of Agia Eleni is about 14 km. away from the city of Skiathos. It is a quiet beach, appropriate for children. Basic organization level.

You can reach Agia Eleni beach with small boats that leave from the port of Skiathos, by bus and by car or moto.



Very small and sandy beach. Owes her name to the fact that it is hidden from human sight, behind small hills and rocks. Krifi Ammos is 15 km. away from the town center and 2 km. away from Koukounaries. The beach is not organized but has crystal waters, good sand and wonderful view.
It is preferable to access Krifi Ammos by small boats because the road is a little rough to go there by car.



In this area we meet three beautiful bays: Xerxis' port, Elia bay and Agkistro. Here the landscape changes while heading north and becomes wilder and more impressive. These three bays are beautiful. In order to meet these beaches you must walk through a pinewood with sandy territory.
There are very quiet beaches and heave clear waters. The easiest way to get there is by motorbike.
















About 4 km. from Koukounaries. Elia beach is not organized but has wonderful waters and a magnificent enviroment. Quiet beach. Elia is next to Agkistros beach. The best way to go to Elia beach is by boat or by motorbike.



Agkistros beach is located at the north part of the island. Sandy beach and deep water. Not organized but has good sea, quiet and beautiful enviroment.
Agkistros is 15 km. from the city of Skiathos, very close to Elia beach. The route to the beach is marvelous, through the beautiful forest of Mandraki.
You can access Agkistros beach by boat, by car or by motorbike.



Megalos Aselinos is located in the north. While the beach is
sandy it dosn't look like the quiet beaches of southern Skiathos.
The sand is thick, has many pebbles, the water is deep and in general the landscape is beautiful.
In Megalos Aselinos beach there is a tavern and also the beach has sunbeds.

You can reach Megalos Aselinos by car ,by foot starting from Troulos beach or by boat when the weather is fine.







A small and isolated beach, 10 minutes away from Megalos Aselinos by foot. Beautiful and a better choice for those who prefer quietness.

Access to Mikros Aselinos is possible by car following the path of Panagia Ikonistra and then the dirt road for about 2,5 km. distance.




Isolated, sandy beach in the northwest side of the island. Almost 12 km. from the city of Skiathos.
It is not organized but has excellent waters and quiet and natural enviroment. Access is possible by boat, by car and by motorbike.



Kechria beach is at the northwest part of Skiathos. The way to Kechria is wonderful even though the last 6 km. of the route is dirt road. You can also go there by boat leaving from the port of Skiathos. The water is crystal clear, the beach is beautiful and quiet and there are sunbeds and umbrellas.
Kechria is close to the old monastery of Panagia.



In the northern side of the island, under the old medieval city of Skiathos you can find Kastro beach. Small sandy beach surrounded by rocks.
The combination of a swim in the crystal clear waters with a visit to the old town of Castle is certainly an experience you should not miss during your stay in Skiathos.
Kastro beach is accessible by boat. Also you can go to Kastro by car but the road stops before you reach the beach.

From the most photographed beaches in Skiathos. It is located on the northeastern side of the island and is one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. In Lalaria the the north wind falls with fury on the steep white cliffs whice rise majestic above the sea and create millions of years now, perfectly round and white pebbles, the "lalaria", that cover the whole beach. On the one side of the beach there is a well shaped rock name "Tripia Petra" and stands there as a sleepless guard. The excellent and wild beauty of the landscape combined with the wonderful clear sea will enchant the visitors. Access is possible only by sea and if the weather allows it.
