By car: The best way to explore the island is by car. You can either have your own or rent one.
By bus:
You can go by bus from Athens to Kavala or Thessaloniki and the by boat to Thasos.
There is local transportation on the island.

By ferry:
Coastal links from Keramoti to Thasos - Limenas (duration is 30 minutes) and from Kavala (duration is 1 hour).
There is coastal link between Kavala and North Aegean Sea, Piraeus and during the summertime with the aegean islands also.

By flying dolphin or catamaran:
From Kavala to Skala of Prinos (then to Skala of Kalirachi, Skala of Maria and Poto).
By boat or small ships:
Daily cruises are organized along the coast of the island giving you the opportunity to meet the island's caves and isolated beaches.
By train:
You can go by train to Drama or Xanthi (7,5 hours duration from Athens) and then by bus to Kavala or Keramoti.
By plane:
You can go to Thasos through the airport of Kavala (Megas Alexandros), in Chrysoupoli.
