MEGALO AND MIKRO STENO
These beaches are located in the middle of Astypalea and are about 9 km far from the city. Steno separates the island into two parts, the Mesa Nisi and Exo Nisi.
The first beach is small and sandy with few trees. Next to this beach is the Megalo Steno beach, greater in width with more trees, which has a cafe.

ANALIPSI (OR MALTEZANA)
Located in Mesa Nisi, in the settlement of Analipsi or Maltezana, located about 10 km far from the city. It is a sandy beach with trees. At the one end of this beach, there are ancient houses into the sea.
At the other end, there is a small port where the visitors who own a boat can reach.
Opposite the beach of Analipsi are the slands Lignos and Hondros, Agia Kiriaki, Koutsomiti and Kounoupi. Very close to beach Analipsi is the beach Schinontas.

LIVADI
Located in Exo Nisi, near to Hora, at village Livadi, at a distance of about 1.5 km far from the city. Livadi is a big beach with sand and small pebbles. An important advantage of this beach is the thick shade provided by trees all way long. From Livadi there is also an easy access to beaches Tzanaki, Moura, Papou and Agios Konstantinos.

SCHINONTAS
Located at a distance of about 1 km from the settlement of Analipsi. The area of Schinontas can be characterized as a small coastal settlement. The beach is sandy, with few trees to provide shade. From this beach you can visit the Byzantine basilica Karekli, with its mosaic floor of the 5th century, soon after the French sailors's monument.
